Modlin Elected President of Association of American Colleges

George M. Modlin was elected president at the 48th annual meeting in Cleveland Ohio. The Association of American Colleges groups about 629 liberal arts colleges and universities with ten commissions conducting research and reporting resolutions at the annual convention.

University Players Hold Tryouts for Between Two Thieves

Auditions for the third University Players production Between Two Thieves are set for February 4 from 2 00 until pan in the Quonget Mut. All interested students are invited to audition as the March production is scheduled.

Student Hurt In Fall At Thomas Hall

Richmond College sophomore and Phi Kappa Signia member Bill Howell was hurt Tuesday night after falling five floors in the Thomas Hall stairwell. He was taken to Medical College of Virginia Hospital after preliminary exam by Dr J Ta Moss and treated by Dr J M Meredith who said he was lucky to have only a concussion lacerations and body bruises with no broken bones.

WCRC Posts 100Hour Virginia College Radio Record

WCRG and the University of Richmond station WCRC set a new 100 hour marathon broadcast last Friday. The event began at 5 p.m. and ended at 9 p.m. with 250 students visiting the studios and many listeners tuning in for the first time.

Westhampton to Crown Queen at Richmond Arena

Six Westhampton contestants vie for the WCRC crown tomorrow night at Richmond Arena during halftime of a UK Tennessee Teel game. Nominees include Pam Koch Liz Violette Sandra Nunn Joan Bishop Pat Kirby and Nancy Berkowske. Queen will receive a dozen red roses from WORG manager Bill Jennings as committee members Dean Gray and Dale Boatwright coordinate the event.

University Gets Research Grant

The Society of the Cincinnati in the State of Virginia will award 500 dollars for faculty research graduate student work graduate fellowship or historical paper preparation. President George M Modlin announced the grant begins in October 1962 and targets early American or colonial history. A faculty committee led by Dr. B. W. Gregory Jr Dr. Frances Gregory Dy B C G Holtzclaw and Dr. R. G. McDanel will administer the funds.
