Forensic groups on campus plan a busy semester starting with the annual historical contest on Monday February 18. Entries close February 6 with Bill Chaffin or Lynn Dickerson. Richmond ROTC Rifle Team Wins Hearst Match

Charles Bingham led the University of Richmond Transportation Corps ROTC five man rifle team with 150 points in the William Randolph Hearst match. Teammates Bob Holden 145, John Thomas 143, Paul Hood 136, and Joe Krivitski 105 also scored on the 200 point, 25 minute event at Millhiser Gym sub basement range using .22 rifles with M-1 stocks.

Senate Opens SAB Reception for Richmond College

The new Student Activities Building will open February 8 for students and faculty of Richmond College Westhampton and the Business School. The Richmond College Student Government hosts a 5:00 p.m. reception with refreshments. The event aims to improve faculty student relations and strengthen ties among Richmond College Westhampton and the Business School.

Business School Forms Committee for Student Faculty Relations

The Senate approved creation of The Committee for the Promotion of Closer Student Faculty Relations with Bill Carter as Chairman. It includes four students and two faculty members, aims to air grievances and ideas, gauge reactions, and provide background for Senate actions. Dean Miller names the faculty reps and Carter appoints the student members.

Mortar Board Plans Annual Marriage Lectures at Westhampton

Mortar Board will sponsor its annual marriage lectures on February 4 5 and 6 in Keller Hall at 7 15 p.m. Westhampton juniors and seniors will hear outstanding Richmond speakers on social religious and biological aspects of marriages.

Senate to Publish Calendar of Campus Events

In a regular meeting the Senate voted to publish a second semester calendar including athletic and Dean’s social events. The calendar will be distributed to all students. The Senate favored Frank Skinner’s suggestion to form a group of campus leaders to visit nearby high schools to promote college life and Richmond College.
