Richmond YMCA Chapter Forms ICC to Address Race Issues
The Richmond chapter of the National Intercollegiate Christian Council was formed with eight member colleges including Richmond College and Virginia Union University. President Russell Jones leads the chapter which aims to unite students across races and tackle Virginia’s race problem through forums, radio discussions, and campus articles. Meetings begin January 6 with a program on January 20 in the Medical College Egyptian Building.

War Council elects officers to fill vacancies

Executive Council Changes Suggested At January Meeting

Forty eight Navy apprentices pass V-5 exams
Forty eight apprentice seamen have met the Naval Aviation requirements and will begin pre flight training on March 1. Thirty six were preselected earlier and twelve were added after officers interviewed candidates on campus. Four left the Navy to enter the Medical College of Virginia last month and are now midshipmen.
