University of Richmond awaits a house to house survey led by veterans to locate living quarters for men enrolling in the second semester. Fifty canvassers will cover a defined area and seek rooms to meet an estimated 100 beds needed at February start, with deeper demand anticipated for September.
A humorous sketch introduces Mrs. Peggylee Gano and Miss Gloria Vici as new instructors at WC. Gano, 5'3", alumna of Westhampton, teaches psychology and enjoys dancing and social events. Vici, a lively Spaniard at WO, offers language flair, piano skill, and counseling for freshmen with a passion for Latin and travel.
The campus YMCA hosted a Christmas party for fifty orphans from the Methodist Orphanage. A supper was served by cabinet members with dietitians, then a film shown by Zane Gray Ross. Dr. Cousins as Santa distributed fruit nuts and candies, with decorations by Wallace Wilson and Lloyd Smith.
The YMCA approves sponsoring its annual ping-pong tournament with O J Graham Jr named chairman of arrangements. Contests will be in the YMCA recreational hall with a designated cabinet member for officials. An award is planned for the champion, details to follow. Students should fill the Collegian application and submit to Mr. Graham or cabinet members. a game schedule will be posted later.
