Petition Seeks Minimum Grades for College Candidates

A petition calling for scholastic minimums for student government and class election candidates was presented at Richmond College Chapel. Ten petitioners urge an amendment requiring a C average in college work hours completed to be eligible for nomination or election. Baker to Lead Two University Mid-Winters Dances

Bruce Baker and his band will provide music for two University of Richmond Mid-Winter dances on January 26 27 with one 9 pm to 12 am and a 4 to 6 pm tea dance. The second band is not yet decided. Becker previously performed as Becker and has reorganized his group after a Junior Prom season. Decorations follow a winter motif by John Locke.

Honorary Group Presents Silent Movie Saturday

Motor Board repeats a yearly custom with a silent movie program at the Playhouse Saturday night at eight o clock. Mildred James says comedy will dominate the program and chapter members offer popcorn candy and peanuts with audience comments allowed during the show.

Lights Out Across Campus From Transformer Fire

A burned-out transformer at the power plant darkened Thomas Hall Jeter Hall and the Administration Building last night. Chief Woodburn said the transformer blew Wednesday night causing total darkness in Thomas Hall. The outage was repaired around 6 PM but only temporarily.
