RC Campaign 69 candidate Sterling H Moore told students the election will continue the effort by the prior two SGA administrations to push positive policy changes at the University. He urged quick adoption of the Code of Conduct by the new administration.
Lance D Wood, a junior from Newport News, pledges a new era of Student Government Association cooperation with the administration during campaign speeches at Dennis Auditorium and the Memorial Chapel. Richmond College students will vote Tuesday in SGA elections with polls open 9 am to 5 pm in Freeman Hall lounge and the Student Center lounge, plus refectory during meals. The ticket includes Weldon A Brads shaw and a platform proposing expanded campus concerts and broader student leadership reform.
Four independent candidates for the Richmond College Senate spoke Tuesday at class assemblies in Dennis Auditorium and Cannon Memorial Chapel about campus issues from drinking regulations to convocations. Stokes, Bus tard, Phillips and Buhrman voiced reforms and concerns while All-Campus candidates Bondurant Cregger Fulton Fernald Janney Ropeicki and Smith were introduced by Moore. no speeches were made by the All-Campus group.
Westhampton College announces candidate slate for first ballot offices in Monday voting from 8:30 to 3:30 in Keller Hall foyer and Reading Room. Candidates include Marjorie Scott and Lynda Zimmerman for Association president and Lelia Baum and Kathy Neal for vice president.
The Richmond College Honor Council issues a statement to clarify misconceptions tied to the SGA presidential campaign. It asserts council procedures are within SGA control, supports separation of powers, and calls for a constitutional amendment to expand the council to ten members for proper defense and quorum.
