Bloxom Baker Contest Victory Highlights Senior Spirit
The Westhampton class of 1958 won the annual song contest after three-year attempts. Senior leader Pat Doggett was mobbed by students as the crowd erupted in cheers and confusion in Keller Hall gym. Virginia Harris wrote the winning original with music by Suzanne Kidd. Patricia Steckman narrated the lyrics.

Scottish Debaters To Oppose Burke McCants on Tuesday
Two Scottish debaters Ronald Anderson and Leonard Turpie will visit the University on March 4 to debate Kenneth Burke and David McCants. The event occurs at 8 00 p m in the Student Activity Building lounge. The negative team is the Scottish debaters and the affirmative opponents are the Richmond debaters. Both Anderson and Turpie are active in Glasgow University affairs and student politics.

First ballot nominees for Westhampton College Government offices were announced this week. Marian Gates, Susan Payne, and Jackie Connell lead the president race with multiple campus roles and honors. Nominations for vice president list Mary Frances Coleman and Anita Knipling, with campus leadership noted for each. A duo of freshmen, Anne Mills and Suzanne Foster, vie for secretary, while Lynn Mapp and Nancy Rae Taylor contest treasurer. Dormitory president contenders include Peggy Gore Jeannette McWilliams Shirley Satterfield for North Court and Alice Jo Barker Gary Moore Ruth Adkins Sylvia Olney for South Court.
