Phi Beta Kappa Elects Twenty-One From BC and RC
Twenty-one seniors from Westhampton College and Richmond College were elected to the Virginia Epsilon chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Eight from Westhampton and thirteen from Richmond were chosen for scholastic excellence and good character, with initiation on March 10 at the Jefferson Hotel.

Prostrotters and Spiderettes Face Off in Hall Gym Today
In Westhampton, the Prostrotters clash with the Sophomore Spiderettes at 5 pm in Keller Hall gym. Star players include Speedy Spencer Albright and Winning Willie Trout for the Prostrotters, while Spiderettes captain Margaret Logan leads Judy Terrific Twyford and teammates in a tough, fair battle under referee Dr. Robert Smart.

Marterie Cancels University of Richmond Greek Week Dance
Ralph Marterie and his 16 piece band cancel their April 16 appearance for Greek Week at the University of Richmond. The cancellation, cited as due to rerouting, disappoints students after prior hope for a big name act. The $500 senate appropriated payment will be returned and a new bill required to reassign funds for another act.

Westhampton AA Holds Contest In Keller Hall
Preparations are underway for the Westhampton College song contest to be held Wednesday February 23 at 8 p.m. in Keller Hall gymnasium. The Westhampton Athletic Association sponsors the event with four songs per class including a pop song two proclamation songs and an original. The pop and proclamation songs are drawn at the song Leaders meeting and the remaining proclamation is a required selection. This year the proclamation song is the 1953 Proclamation Song.

Jean Burroughs and Eliza Hubble vie for Westhampton College Government Association presidency. Both are consistently on the Dean's List with prior roles in North Court dormitory activities and Honor Council. Other races include vice president, treasurer, and secretary with multiple candidates from North and South Courts and the Athletic Association. Elections are in February after petitions.

Albemarle High to Host UR-WRVA Quiz Contest Feb 21
The fourth annual University of Richmond WRVA Radio Scholarship Quiz begins at Albemarle High School at 9 30 p m with Elbert Osborne Ralph Whitticar and Dan Bain competing in the first quarter final. Winners receive scholarships up to 1000 with total prize pool 7000.
