Mimi Anderson Chosen Web Beauty Leaders Named for Richmond College

Mimi Anderson named web beauty while Jimmy Sease leads the student party slate at Richmond College. Sease has served in the college Senate and earned Who's Who recognition. The slate includes Charlie Welsh Ralph Barron Bill Carrington Mudball McCall and several senatorial nominees. Independent and All Campus tickets also field candidates for president and other offices.

Committee Adopts Plan For Unified Student Government

The Richmond College Student Government Association and the School of Business Administration SGA backed the Morton Marks Pete Singleton plan for a unified student government. Harold White’s proposal lost by two votes and the committee sent the plan to a sub committee for refinement. Massie noted the framework is skeletal and participation is not compulsory awaiting admin and student body approval. Singleton to chair the sub committee with Sease Gans Booker Weber and White.

Jennings Chosen V-Pres. of Society

At a Chemistry Building meeting on Wednesday afternoon Jack Jennings was elected vice-president of the local SASM chapter to fill the term of Bob Lane who left school due to family illness. He outdistanced Dave Clay and Charlie Mattox in the race. Don Fendler chaired the nominating committee. Martin L. Schotzberger was named Arrangements Committee chairman and Bob Gibson was named to explore an award for the outstanding member of the School of Business Administration at Richmond College.

Players Tryout for Annual Revue Seek Talent

WANTED original songs topical skits and blackout numbers for the annual Players Revue. Sing or dance or perform comedy acts. Check in with Prof Maner or Williams at the Playhouse. The Revue aims to delight both performers and audience.

Roberts Named Winner Of Forensic Contest

Jerry Roberts was unanimously declared the winner of the oratorical contest held Monday under the auspices of the Richmond College Forensics Council. Judges B. C. Holtzclaw, Lawrence Wood and Spencer D. Albright named Robert Fountain second place.

The Veterans Administration warns that many veterans with National Service Life Insurance issued in 1941 to 1945 face expiration as their term policies end. Expiring contracts can be renewed for five years or converted to permanent plans, with VA notifying eligible veterans two months before expiry.

IRc Convenes in Nashville Southeastern Regional Conference

More than 125 delegates from over 40 colleges across North Carolina Virginia and Tennessee attended the Southeastern Regional International Relations Clubs Conference at Vanderbilt University in Nashville last weekend. Don Wilson University of Richmond represented his campus as vice president and program chairman. The theme Security in the Atomic Age guided four round tables with three sessions each including The United States and the Soviet Union in the UN The Power Struggle in the East European Recovery Program and Atomic Energy and Collective Security. Renowned New York educators Dr. Howard E. Wilson and Dr. Clyde Eagleton spoke to the meetings. Vanderbilt faculty supervised the sessions and student papers underpinned the discussions.
