Griggs Smith Brandis Becker Earn Debate Honors
The University of Richmond debate team took second place at the Marshalle Wythe Debate Tournament hosted by the College of William and Mary on February 9 10. Griggs and Smith led the affirmative with six wins in seven rounds while Brandis and Becker went three and four. Richmond defeated Princeton Florida Penn State Penn and others while Fordham triumphed overall. The topic was labor organizations under antitrust regulation.

Westhampton's annual Song Con test will be held in Keller Hall gym February 28 at 7 90 p.m. Sponsored by AA with Darlene Morgan in charge the contest features four classes performing required proclamation and drawn songs plus original pop numbers. Judges assess dress harmony originality presentation and overall appearance. Song leaders Libby Wampler Jesse Rogers Love lady Joyce Sanford and Barbara Gardner head senior junior sophomore and freshmen groups with daily practices underway.

Last Play Tryouts For Between Two Thieves
Final tryouts for Between Two Thieves will be held in the Quonset Hut Monday afternoon. Many roles remain for both men and women. The play, translated from the Indian by Warmer LeRoy, was a top off Broadway work and is new to this area. Rehearsals start immediately for a March 22 and 28 production in the Dennis auditorium at the School of Business Administration.

Philologian Society Examines Speech Fear and History
The Philologian Society will examine psychological aspects of speech errors and fear of public speaking in a Monday 6 45 PM presentation by Phil Seat at the student center. University Choir to Perform Bach Passion at Richmond
The University of Richmond Choir and Orchestra under James Erb will present Bach's Passion According to St. John on February 18 at 4 pm in Gan non Memorial Chapel, closing Religious Emphasis Week and marking the Beckerath organ installation. Soloists include Richmond performers Gene Wade, William Cooper, and George Wadlington, with student soloists Randy Cox Libby Wampler Betty Cheyney and Susan Ligon. The English text translation by Drinker Mendel and Officer accompanies a small orchestra as the choir portrays the congregation and key characters in this sacred work.
