University of Richmond basketers win 26 25 in a thriller against the Wasps in Millhiser Gym. Led by Hash and Roberts the Spiders fight back from a 15 point foe deficit to seize the state title push amid a tense back and forth second half.
William J. Fallis is named to fill the Council of Honor post after John Spyharrow’s resignation. Poage announces the appointment, Fallis will assume duties immediately for the 1995–96 term. Fallis is active on campus and will also serve on the university’s honor body.
Congress made no move to authorize PWA loans for non state institutions delaying Serthampton College gym project. Alumnae Association and administration plan a fundraising drive to cover shortfall after $68,400 already raised toward a $150,000 to $200,000 total cost. The new gym will replace the Red Cross building used as a recreation center since 1918.
Veteran cast named for Noel Coward comedy Hay Fever to be staged March 1 and 2 at the Playhouse. Miss Emily T. Brown directs. David Bliss among cast in a British drawing room farce about weekend visitors and tangled romances.
Interfraternity Council tentatively sets March 22 and 23 for Spring Dances to be held in the gym with Duke Collegians likely providing music. Tickets priced at 2.00 reflect fraternal desire for cheaper entertainment. Social committee must still approve dates and gym use.
The Ministerial Association outlines plans for the next semester including efforts to register all ministerial students for the next meeting. It cites hopes that Dr. Boatwright and Dr. Pinchbeck will attend and invites interested non students to join.
Mr Mark Ethridge prominent Southern journalist and general manager of the Richmond Timed Dispatch will speak at convocation exercises on Journal. iam. He won a Aberlander trust fellowship and studied social conditions in Europe. A Mississippi native he attended the University of Mississippi and Mercer University Law School, with 24 years in newspaper work beginning at the Columbia Enquirer Sun.

The event features original banner songs replacing the current one as banners are taken down at the end of attic sessions with winners to be displayed on the farms. Judges named by the Athletic Association include Mrs J Flaxington Harker Mrs Crockenborough and Mrs Ryland.
Fourteen undergraduates nine men and five co- wards and four alumni were elected this week to Phi Beta Kappa in a poll by the Collegian. Official notice will come Monday after acceptances are returned to Dr. R E Loving secretary treasurer. Richmond College selections include M Baroody Clarke Grenoble Miller Parker Ridgeway Robertson Sanford Sauer. Westhampton picks include Rosa Carter Alexandria Helen Caulfield Norfolk Mary Anne Guy Sue Cook McClure Florence Rhea Talley. Alumni names could not be obtained. Election marks a record year for class sizes and honors.
A special point system committee urges a drastic revision at Richmond College. The plan raises maximum points to 26, reclassifies offices into major sub major minor and sub minor with values 13 10 8 and 1 points respectively and calls for enforcement by the Dean. The proposal will be discussed at a student government meeting Monday at 12 80 in the Playhouse.
Campus interest grows as the University players prepare the first male musical revue titled Rigmarole to be staged Friday night February 22 in the Playhouse. Tickets are on sale at the Student Shop with reserved seating. fraternities distribute to members. The production features new effects, comic shots by fraternities, a daring stunt likely by Botchel Schultz, a fan dance by Max Selo, and a seven-voll dance by Stuart Woodson. An ensemble chorus, under Misses Schutze and Wright, rehearsed all week for high stepping. Music by an orchestra led by Bob Talley, stage management by Hunt Neno, and production credits to Garnett, Allen, Ellyson, Shafer, and Neathery. The Playhouse will display fraternity banners and colors for RU Rai Club’s first venture into male musical revues.
The Richmond College Glee Club under Charles Troxell plans a concert at Averett College on March 2 or 9 with the exact date to be announced. Rehearsals progress on the burlesque operetta Romeo and Juliet to be the second half of the spring concert in April. New songs are added to the club’s repertoire for the season.
