Middies Will Select Miss Westhampton Beauty
The Annapolis Naval Academy midshipmen will pick Miss Westhampton from ten Richmond College contenders for the 1948 Web beauty. Editors Clifton Long Louise Cardozo and George D Prestwich oversee the selection with ballot held in Chapel last year. Announcement will come with the yearbook publication after John Payne’s army service delayed his participation.

University of Richmond Players invite spring tour with Cocky Doodler
University of Richmond actors invited students to try out for the Players production of Cocky Doodler in the Playhouse on Monday afternoon. Director Alton Williams aims to assemble a touring company for performances at Camp Lee Camp Pickett Fort Eustis and other servicemen venues and plans a March 18 Lyric Theater date if a full cast and crew are found. Bill Maner author and alumnus is expected to join the tour when available.

The University of Richmond Chemistry Club announced on February 6 that 28 new members were voted in. Twenty four are Richmond College men and four Westhampton women. Elmer West was elected president, Ann Howard vice-president, Marjorie Clements secretary, and William Metzger treasurer.

No Jr Prom Shelved Amid Class Bid To Forgo Event
In a Wednesday meeting 16 junior class members passed Garvey's motion to cancel the traditional prom due to surmountable difficulties. The class voted to disband for the semester while Ben Rouzie urged disbandment. Prom date had been set for February 27 with favors costing $2.25 noted as irrelevant to the decision.

A Westhampton College student body meeting on February 6 decided by popular vote that the annual Song Contest will not be held this year. Partial credit offered: March 1 deadline yields half credit, post March 1 yields one hour credit on a two hour course, with make up required. Degree requirements remain unchanged.
