Pageant plans underway for Shakespearean event
Plans for a spring pageant to honor Shakespeare's death centennial are in progress at Richmond College and Westhampton College with many city schools joining. Miss Hatcher of Bryn Mawr will lead, with Dr. Boatwright and others assisting. The event, likely in early May, will span two days on campus featuring Elizabethan scenes, plays by Shakespeare, masque acts, and a water pageant at night.

Trustees Meet in Semi Annual Session
The Board of Trustees of Richmond College met in semiannual session at Rueger's Hotel on Inez. Present were President Boatwright and secretary B. West Tabb plus numerous trustees. They handled routine business, reviewed committee work on Scholarship Instruction and the Women’s College, and voted to confer LL D on Dr Stuart McGuire, president of the Medical College of Virginia, a noted Richmond College alumnus and former president of the American Medical Association. Cotillon Club Opens Season With Opening Dance
The Cotillon Club at the Country Club hosted a lively opening dance on Monday evening with about thirty five couples in the grand march led by Mr. Leslie and Miss Scherer. The orchestra, décor, and refreshments supported a elegant program as guests enjoyed dancing until midnight. Attendance included Dr. and Mrs Metcalf and other notables though some guests were absent due to illness.

New Entrance Requirements for Richmond and Westhampton Colleges
The Board of Trustees on February 3 adopted new entrance rules for the LOLG 17 session. Applicants must be at least sixteen, present a certificate of honorable dismissal or equivalent good character evidence, and prove preparation to benefit from college work via a written exam a preparatory school certificate or special student permission.
