Religious Week Series Led By Dr J N Thomas at Union Seminary
The Annual Religious Emphasis Week at the University of Richmond runs Monday February 12 through Friday February 16 in Cannon Chapel. The Reverend Dr John Newton Thomas, Professor of Theology at Union Theological Seminary Richmond Va, will lead the meetings. Dr Thomas, born Bedford Va, studied at Washington and Lee, Union Seminary Richmond, University of Edinburgh, and Berlin University. He holds B D and Ph D and has taught religion and Bible literature at Holling College and served as pastor before chairing Systematic Theology at Union Seminary.

February Graduation Held in Chapel at Cannon Memorial
The mid term graduation exercises on February 2, 1946, in Cannon Memorial Chapel included an invocation by Professor Solon B. Cousins and a choir performance of The Heavens Are Telling. Degrees were conferred by President Boatwright on multiple BA and BS recipients and law graduates. Lt. Ernest H. Dervishian received the University Honor Plaque for the Congressional Medal of Honor. Benediction followed.

Quarantined V-12 Unit Faces Mumps Outbreak
The Navy V-12 unit declares quarantine after a mumps outbreak beginning January 81. Thirty boys show minor illness. beds were prepared in the Dental room and double sacks in dormitories. Separate hours limit civilian contact and the Mid winter Dances are canceled. Junior Prom proceeds as planned.

Dervishian Receives Honor Plaque At Richmond
Lt. Ernest H. Dervishian, a 1938 graduate, was awarded the University of Richmond Honor Plaque after receiving the Medal of Honor for heroism in the Italian campaign. The ceremony on February 2 1945 in Cannon Memorial Chapel also noted his failed medical ambitions and wartime service.

The Biology Club at Westhampton and Richmond Colleges grows from fifty-one members with Dr. Smart and Mr. Jones aiding. Virginia Huett is president, Mary Lou Rust secretary, Irene White treasurer.
