Beverley Randolph Named 1952 Web Beauty by Cecil B deMille

Westhampton senior Beverley Randolph has been chosen as the 1952 Web Beauty by famed director Cecil B deMille. The selection came from nine nominees presented by the student body with Randolph praised as first among lovely young American women.

Players to Have Quonset Hut Soon

Dr. Charles H. Wheeler the university treasurer announced this week that work will begin soon on a quonset hut to be used by the Department of Dramatic Arts and Speech. The building will include electricity and heat.

Funds Raised Half Way for Boatwright Memorial Library

University President George M. Medlin told the board of trustees that Virginia Baptists had donated about half of the funds needed for the F. W. Boatwright Memorial Library drive. The current total, $459,801.63, was raised since 1945, but construction costs now require nearly double that amount to complete the memorial library honoring Dr. Boatwright who served the university for 64 years.

Opening of SAB Postponed a Week

The opening of the Student Activities Building at Richmond College has been postponed for a week. Student Government President Frank Skinner told the College Senate this week that although the opening is delayed, it will proceed soon.

Richmond College Budget Approved for First Semester

The University of Richmond approved the 1951 52 first semester budget for Richmond College after delays over campus publications funding. The RG Senate swiftly passed a identical budget for the second semester avoiding further delays.

Black and White Dance at Keller Hall This Evening

The Harlequin Club hosts a Black and White dance in Keller Hall tonight at 8:15 p.m. Admission is 50 cents per person. Attendees should dress in black or white or a black and white combination.
