Former Professor Dr Chester Garvey Dies After Illness
Dr Chester R Garvey former University of Richmond faculty and Carnegie Tech assistant professor of psychology and education died January 26 after a week long illness. He taught at Yale and in several colleges and was active in scientific societies including AAAS APA and Sigma Xi. Survived by wife Helen Gillis Garvey, parents, and a sister.

Seminary Leader Speaks on Flood Relief Efforts in Louisville
Dr. John R. Sampey president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary spoke to the Ministerial Association on February 1 1937 in Richmond detailing how dormitories at the seminary were used as a hospital for feverish flood refugees and other buildings sheltering women and children. Classes were suspended to aid relief operations. E J Clary urged personal evangelism in his remarks. An evening session is set for February 25 1937 at the Y M C A building.

Alumni Fund Expands Three Fellowships at University of Richmond
The University of Richmond alumni council plans three fellowships of 2500 dollars each as a minimum objective for next year. The Boatwright Harris and Mitchell Fellowships will reward character scholarship leadership and athletic ability. Rotation aims to grant one to newcomers in 1987 1938 and 1939 with future plans for an additional yearly opening.

Indebtedness Of AA Reduced Nearly $5,000
The University of Richmond Athletic Association lowered its debt from about $18,500 to $18,250 over three years. The group must retire the debt at $1,000 per year plus interest, but payments have averaged about $1,750 annually. The 1936 football season yielded a profit of $7,787.31, compared with $2,928.25 the previous year.
