Westhampton Alumnae to Present Balkan Folk Song Event
Westhampton Alumnae Association will stage a program of eastern European folk songs and dances on Friday February 4 at 745 PM. Proceeds will aid the Westhampton women's building fund. Ellenor Cooke and Eugenia Folliard will perform in regional costumes with musical and pictorial explanations of Balkan legends. Six of Cooke's costumes were donated by Zagreb curator Jugo Slavia. A noted song on the program is the Song of the Volga Boatman.

New Roll of Honor Rules Tighten Eligibility at Richmond College
A faculty committee approved tougher roll of honor standards effective immediately. Students on 12 to 14 credit hours must earn two A grades with no grade below B, 15 to 17 hours require one A with no grade below B, and 18 or 19 hours allow one A one C with no grade below B, with implied eligibility for those carrying 18 hours and six B grades.

Richmond hosts its first major debate of the year on February 8 at Gettysburg College with Richmond students Harry M. Herman T Eugene West and Robert W. Edwards arguing the United States should Cancel Her Allied War Debts. Gettysburg supports the affirmative and Pennsylvanian foes oppose it. On February 11 Richmond faces West Virginia with Richmond defending the affirmative.

The Richmond Collegian will publish grades showing the relative standing of campus social groups. A committee including James Harmonsen Leslie Jones and Hier Atkins will draw up the ranking system. Prizes for the top three declaimers will be awarded in the annual high school Declamation contest to be held in the college chapel on February 25. The best declaimer traditionally receives a gold medal, but this year three winners will receive $15, $10, and $5 in gold.
