Grigg Named Dean as Smart Becomes Provost at University
Dr. Austin S. Grigg will replace Dr. Robert F. Smart as dean of Richmond College at the University of Richmond. Smart is promoted to provost to ease president George M. Modlin's administrative load. The Board of Trustees confirmed the appointments, effective immediately.

College House will not release professor survey results
Richmond College House of Representatives will tabulate survey results and hand them to professors for self use. Speaker Robbie Baldwin with Dean William Baker says publicly releasing results is unprofitable and could harm teaching quality. About half of University professors participated. psychology sociology and speech departments did not.

Fraternities face probation terms and reversals
The Faculty Committee on Fraternities denied reinstatement requests by three social fraternities Kap pa Alpha Kappa Alpha on probation and Kappa Sigma Pi Kappa Sigma on warnings. Theta Gamma Pi and others had probation lifted after acceptable plans, while three others must submit better proposals to remove disciplinary restrictions in the second semester.
