Manarin Talk on Lee Letters at Historical Society

Louis Manarin, historian for the Virginia Civil War Commission, will speak Monday night January 9 on General R. E. Lee’s wartime letters. His single volume selection is due this spring. he holds an M A from Duke and is near a Ph D. degree. The meeting is at 7 30 p m in the Student Activities Building lounge.

Retired Missionary Set for Convo

A retired missionary will speak at the University Convocation January 5. Dr. George W. Sadler, former Secretary of the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board, will discuss "Will the Future Redeem the Paste?" The Sadlers were missionaries to Nigeria and were honored by the Nigerian government for their contributions. He now serves as interim pastor in Harrisonburg and will teach biblical literature at Baylor University next semester.

Decorations Judged at WC by Nancy Smith

Westhampton dormitory students staged door and hall decoration judging for Christmas with prizes for originality neatness and appeal. North Court doors featured themes such as Christmas in Mexico and The Three Wise Men with halls titled Christmas Trees Old and New and Sound of Christmas. South Court winners included John Donne themed doors and mosaic angel with hall themes of two children awaiting Santa and Christmas in the Home. Sophomore Judy Barlow organized the contest.
