Campus party for Richmond area children at Milhiser gym

The Interfraternity Council and YMCA sponsor a campus wide party for underprivileged Richmond area children tomorrow at Milhiser gym from 2 to 4 30 with about 60 children. Fraternities provide entertainment decorations and gifts, with Santa and a clown, led by Rev Aubrey Rosser and Dean Gray.

Debate Team at Wake Forest Tourney Highlights Burke

The Dixie Glassie Debate Tournament at Wake Forest College in Winston-Salem drew twelve colleges including Duke, UNC, South Carolina, and Ohio State. Pittsburgh won, Florida and Miami placed second and third. Richmond teams went 6-6 overall with Burke earning a top speaker certificate and second in after-dinner speaking.

Garrett Attends U N Seminar On East West Disarmament

Miss Jo Anne Garrett of Westhampton joined forty five students in New York for a United Nations seminar on East West disarmament. Quaker leader Burt Bigelow urged cutting defense costs to fund foreign aid and proposed halting April nuclear tests.

Famed astronomer Dr Harlow Shapley speaks on life via amino acids

Harvard astronomer Dr Harlow Shapley addressed the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Convocation at Gannon Memorial Chapel on December 5. He linked life to amino acids and proteins, stressed global education for peace, and noted international science cooperation through UNESCO and UN charter aims.

Snowball Dance Set by Westhampton A A

The annual Snowball dance sponsored by the Athletic Association of Westhampton will be held tomorrow night from 8 to 12 in Keller Hall gym. The theme is Winter Wonderland with music by the Pine Wells Sextet and formal dress. Nancy Prickett, A A president, serves as general chairman.

French Students Plan Tavern Theme For Annual Dinner

French students set a Le Chat Qui Rit tavern theme dinner on January 6 1958 at 6 15 PM in Keller Hall Tea Room. Guests dress as country peasants and sample French delicacies under Dr Jean G Wright. Sally Finch heads the French Council with Annette Moore Jehane Flint Margaret Williams Malissa Miller committees. Conversation to be in French. admission $1 per person.
