Westhampton College Grievance Letter Addressed by President

President Modlin replies to a Nov 12 letter from 450 Westhampton students led by Lucy Bone and Joan Freeze outlining seven needs. He rejects televisions due to costs but approves painting dorm rooms and North Court, adds two clean sheets weekly, expands pay phones, studies medical services and facility fees, and plans better security with lights and improved access.

Judiciary Council Passed By Richmond College Senate

Richmond College voters approved a new Judiciary Council by a 227 to 50 referendum. The council will govern student actions not covered by the Honor Council Interfraternity Court or Head Residents Council. SGA President Lance Wood praised supporters yet criticized a last minute opposition campaign and urged dissent through Senate channels.

Steering Leaders Impress With Dr Modlin Cooperation

The USSC met with University president Dr George M Modlin and gained a copy of by laws to study university power structure. NSA reps Larry Madgette and Gail Porter inspired efforts toward constructive changes using media publicity. New committee chairs were named including Mary Alice Gurtin Tom Brookes Dennis Wright and Jim Moore head of non resident student panel.

Richmond College Senate Joins National Student Association

The Richmond College Senate voted unanimously to join the NSA in a closed Sunday meeting. SGA president Lance Wood praised the move as a major step, listing NSA services from Legal Aid to national conventions and public relations to support student rights and reform.
