The Richmond Chapter of Pi Delta Epsilon will host the national convention of PDE in 1939. At Lehigh University the national body voted to accept Richmond’s invitation. Richmond delegates included Ben McClure and George Scheer with Marie Keyser issuing the invitation. The Hampden Sydney chapter sponsorship and initiations were discussed along with new charters for Beaver Illinois State Normal and Gettysburg College.

Richmond College students voted at convocation to cover admission for the December 19 basketball game against Pittsburgh. Of 864 votes, 182 supported paying fifty cents, 172 opposed. the result led Coach Glenn Thistlethwaite to schedule the game with Pittsburgh authorities. Russell Walton chaired the student body vote after Senate action.
