Banquet Honors New Epsilon Circle Members

Epsilon Circle Omicron Delta Kappa held its fall banquet at the Richmond College Refectory on December 3 1929 at 630 PM. About 30 attendees including prominent alumni heard R C Walden III of Richmond Virginia class of 22 speak in the trophy room of the Roger Millhiser Memorial Gymnasium. Present Honor System Is Again Discussed at Weekly Meeting

Poor attendance at the Richmond College Student Government meeting due to bad weather. Eugene Ritter spoke on abolishing the student government and proposed a plan of action and a faculty cooperation committee to seek mutual ground.

Magill Leads YMCA Discussion Groups

O R Magill of Atlanta led YMCA discussion groups at the YMCA building on Sunday November 30 with representatives from William and Mary College the Medical College of Virginia and the University of Richmond. Three sessions were held focusing on campus problems and how local organizations might meet them.

Exam dates set for preliminary examinations

Announcements from the faculty and Dean's Office schedule special preliminary exams in all classes on Thursday and Friday December 19 and 20. The compulsory tests, given annually, are as important as regular mid semester exams, so students should start preparing now.

A mid semester roll lists students earning at least 33 quality credits under the three quality credits per A hour, two B hours, one C hour rule to qualify for 4 place on the Dean's list. English Department Announces 1930 Poetry Contest

The English department invites all University of Richmond students to enter the Witter Bynnes Undergraduate Poetry Contest of 1930. Palms sponsors the event with a single judge, Mr. Bynner, aiming for fair recognition of first choices. No fixed verse form is required.

Ministers Hear Doering Talk At Bi Monthly Meeting

The Ministerial Association held its regular bi monthly meeting last Tuesday with vice president J A Cales presiding in the president's absence. Professor B B Doering gave the main talk and the business hour centered on securing the association photo for The Web. Members are urged to watch bulletin boards for the photographer date and to pay dues promptly.

Chinese Students Honor Richmond Faculty at Lido Gardens

Chinese students of Richmond College hosted a reception at the Lido Gardens on November 29 for eleven faculty members their wives and friends. Cantonese dishes complemented Oriental decorations as Mrs Janet Stewart Durham spoke along with Dr Rolyin Harlan Dr S C Mitchell Dr F W Boatwright and Dr E B Ray.

Series of Lectures Presented by University of Richmond

The Evening School of Business Administration at the University of Richmond will present fifteen lectures by university faculty soon after Christmas. Lectures occur in the T. C. Williams Law Building to foster friendship with Richmond and suburban residents and boost extension work. Dr. S. Mitchell starts the series with three lectures on "Omitted Chapters in History."

Cooperation urged for campus class and organization photos

The photographer will visit the campus soon to take class and organization pictures. Students clubs literary societies and fraternities should schedule appointments now to ensure their portraits appear in The 1930 Web. This is the last campus visit for photography.

On December 12 1929 Richmond College faces Bridgewater College in Bridgewater Virginia on the Briand Proposal for an Economic Confederation of European States. On December 13 1929 Richmond College debates Lynchburg College on the same topic at Lynchburg Virginia. Dr J P L Russell named debating coach by President FP W Boatwright. he is Tau Kappa Alpha member and former Emory and Henry coach.

Dailey Succeeded by Paul Peterson as Y M C A President

Paul L. Peterson elected president of the Y M C A to succeed J B Dailey. Peterson has long been active in Y work, serving as vice president and cabinet member, and attended the Y M C A Graduate School at Epic Ridge and the Silver Bay Summer School. Dailey's presidency highlighted the Student Government Social in the campus social program.

Dr. Holm to address University of Richmond Science Club

Dr George E Holm of the Bureau of Dairy Industry USDA will speak to the University of Richmond Science Club Friday afternoon December 13. The senior biological chemist will cover milk chemistry fats bios and dairy nutrition topics and club members plan regular science talks by prominent speakers.
