Captain Coburn Saves Last Game for Richmond College

Richmond College closed its season with a 0 to 0 draw against Randolph-Macon on Broad Street Park. Captain Coburn's spectacular tackle prevented a late Jackets score while Cosby and Crosby starred for the Spiders in a tense, penalty-filled finale.

Freshman Class Organized After Tribulations

The freshman class held a Richmond meeting on November 20 after the William and Mary game. Thomas Miller was elected President, Piggy Poff Vice President, Garnett Secretary, and Q D Whitlock Historian. Miller, a Richmond Academy alum, is praised for his leadership and class future. Pigpy Pol, a Fork Union star, earned his R and shows strong form. Clarnettia from Fredericksburg and others join the class amid ongoing college life. (Concluded on Page 4.)

Play To Be Given Next Week At December 10th

A drama event is set for December 10th after earlier patent rights concerns. Rehearsals are active, posters by Johnson已 prepared, and Manager Vache plans a strong production with posters and tickets available through Vade. Spiders members are urged to support with attendance and help.

Richmond College Sends Student on Peace Europe Trip

Richmond College senior class selects three candidates for a Rhodes Scholarship based peace voyage to Europe funded by an auto manufacturer. The winner will join Mr Mord and student Jouse C. Duke on a six to eight week trip leaving New York, with details to be announced in The Collingian.

Valuable Address at Vespers by Richmond College Alumnus

Mr. Ashton Starke of Richmond, a Richmond College alumnus and local businessman, spoke on the subject of Character to a large audience at vesper services last Sunday. He shared examples of character’s ruinous effects and monumental successes, praising character building as essential. The vesper choir assisted, and next Sunday's service will feature the choir and Richmond College quartette with public invitation.

Foot Ball Men Get A Big Feed At College Banquet

The last football rally of the year drew alumni and old stars to an auditorium gathering at Westhampton College. Dr V McDaniel led a plan for a Saturday banquet for the team, with a small collection to cover the rest of the bill. After Saturday's game the Varsity and second team were guest of Murphy's for a substantial meal, with about forty five men singing Maysellaise Old Red and Blue and other melodies between courses. Dr McDaniel My Dobson Dr Boatwright and Mr Barnett joined in. The occasion was informal and greatly enjoyed.

Denominational College Outlook Lecture by Dr Boatwright

Dr Boatwright delivered the final Faculty Lecture of the term in the auditorium at 4 00 PM Tuesday. A smaller crowd due to severe weather praised his talk on The Outlook for the Denominational College, noting its faster growth versus the state supported college and its engaging content.

Richmond and Weat hampton alumni banquets honor educators

Alumni of Richmond College and Weat hampton College teaching in State secondary schools attended a reunion dinner at Murphy's Hotel during the Education Convention. Dr. Loving arranged the event with toastmaster Rev. T. R. Sanford. Speakers included Prof. C. W. Owen Miss Ethel Smither Professor Bryan and Dean Metcalf. About forty guests enjoyed brief talks and the gathering.
