Finals Band Contract At Richmond College Nearing Final Round
The Interfraternity Council at Richmond College cleared up band issues for finals after confirming possible use of a prominent unionized orchestra. Dexter Abeloff said four dances before finals would mostly feature union-affiliated bands, with Sigma Phi Epsilon’s ball already set with a non union group. The union warned that after April 24 only union orchestras could play if non union hiring continues.

Tea Monday Opens Enlarged Tea Room
Westhampton College officials and alumnae unveiled a refurbished tea room in the Women’s Activities Building with a 4 to 6 pm Monday event for students. President Boatwright funded 1500 dollars for expansion and alumnae contributed 460 dollars for furniture and decor, increasing capacity to 125 guests with sliding doors for small gatherings.

SPE Asks Campus To Dance Tonight
The Sigma Phi Epsilon Spring Formal invites the entire student body to Millhiser gym tonight with a 6:30 P.M. banquet at Ewart's cafeteria where new officers will be installed. Bob Talley and Ralph Kinsley to become president and vice president, Roy Dennis’ orchestra to provide music as the gym glitters in SPE colors and a revolving crystal ceiling. Dancing runs from 9:30 P.M. to 1:00 A.M.

Poll Predicts Close Race With Progressives Leading
The Collegian poll projects tight class elections with Progressives winning four offices and Co-operatives two. It surveyed 20 non-fraternity men per class plus straight fraternity voting assumptions to estimate outcomes for president and senator across senior and junior classes. Enders Dickinson leads in the senior president race with 63.8 percent to Abeloff’s 46.2 percent, while junior results favor Turkington for president at 56.2 percent and Williams at 43.8 percent.

ODK Campus Carnival is projected to net over 300 dollars with final totals pending invoices. Edwin Wortham will present a cashier’s check to President Boatwright after settling all expenses next Friday. Phi Kappa Sigma led in receipts with 36.04 dollars, while the Variety Show earned 68.26 dollars. Gate receipts were 80.10 dollars. Theta Chi won best show for its House of Horrors and Phi Alpha earned top booth prize Wheel of Fortune.
