Westhampton College Piano Fund Reaches $200 Mark
Westhampton College funds for a piano to mark the college’s twenty fifth anniversary have reached two hundred dollars. The campaign seeks six hundred more by May first toward a total of one thousand five hundred for the instrument. Funds come from students faculty alumnae and friends with a thermometer display and a penny box in the Activities Building. A slogan contest winner Miss Marie Keyser received a Westhampton banner for “A Piano for a Song.”

Kay Kyser led the Richmond College campus poll with 96 votes for the finals orchestra, ahead of Artie Shaw who had 68. Tommy Dorsey 48, Hal Kemp 26, Horace Heidt 19, and Larry Clinton 15 followed. 32 bands were backed on campus.

Boyd to Speak at Sunday Vesper Service
Dr Beverley Boyd rector of Grace and Holy Trinity Church Richmond will speak Sunday evening at the vesper service in Cannon Memorial Chapel. It is his first campus appearance though he has spoken on campus before. He belonged to the goodwill trio that conducted a discussion at a convocation last spring.

Theta Chi fraternity captured top honors at the first Interfraternity Sing held last Saturday in the Greek Theatre. Phi Gamma Delta and Sigma Alpha Epsilon also performed before a large audience. Davis Mottley, committee chair, praised all three acts and urged improvement for next year.
