University of Richmond Hoard of Publications names Heverley D. Taylor editor-in-chief of the 1934 Web. Marydee Lowe is editor of the 1934 Tower and Julia Donahue business manager of The Tower. Robert Ferrell named Web business manager. Margaret Proctor and Lawson Cooke named assistant business managers for The Richmond Collegian.

German Etchings in Richmond Art Exhibit

Harlequin Club Elects Fifteen Members at Meeting

The Harlequin Club elected fifteen new members on Monday at 3 PM in Room H of the Administration Building. Plans for a future closed dinner dance were discussed, with date and place undecided. Members hail from Phi Delta Omega, Phi Kappa Sigma, Kappa Alpha, Phi Gamma Delta, Theta Chi, Pi Kappa Alpha, Lambda Chi Alpha, Sikma Phi Epsilon, and more.

Sophomores Host Friday Cabaret At Red Cross Building

The Senior Class entertained the Sophomores Friday night March 31 with a cabaret at the Red Cross Building. Marian West hosted with dancer Marjorie Canada, the Plunket Sisters Elizabeth Seay and Margaret Crows drew laughs, and Vir Gillian Atkinson plus Fay Gunter earned encores for dancing. Helen Morgan joined as Helen Travis at the piano alongside Dot Chewning as Cab Calloway.

Senior Class Presents Gift to Westhampton College

On Thursday March 30 the Westhampton College Senior Class presented its parting gift to the college. The gift consisted of gold draperies for the Blue Room and the new rug given by the University was presented as well. Miss Helen Travis opened the program and Miss Katheryn Harris presented the gift, which Dean Keller accepted for the college.

Separate Honor Council Main Feature of Richmond Plan

Edwin S. Cohen outlines a revised Honor System for Richmond College. The plan creates a seven member Honor Council drawn from classes, excludes Senate members, and mirrors the University of Virginia approach. Professors would post out of class regulations, and a two sentence Honor Code would bind students to truth and reporting violations.

Student conferences urged for major plans and records

Proctor System Favored by Some

A student body debates adopting the Proctor System at Richmond College. Proctors would enforce classroom honesty with faculty supervision and a council verdict by professors and students, risking expulsion or suspension for violations. Supporters see it as a step to foster eventual full Honor System backing.

Local Scout Group Plans Alpha Phi Omega Chapter at Richmond College

Richmond College students who have been in the Boy Scouts are invited to weekly meetings to organize a local Alpha Phi Omega chapter under Dan Sievers. Officers named are Frank Straus chair Hugh Cardoza vice chair and James Baldwin secretary. A April 10 follow up meeting will finalize charter plans and future work.

Richmond College debates honor system versus Proctor plan

About 200 students attended the SGA meeting in the Playhouse to discuss keeping the Honor Code, adopting a Proctor System, or creating an honor council led by the president. Clarence Gray summarized educator and senate views. Edwin Cohen proposed an honor council. Ralph Ferrell urged a Proctor return. A follow up meeting is planned for Monday.

Varsity Club Plans April Dance in Millhiser Gym

The Varsity Club hosts a 9 to 12 Saturday April dance in Millhiser Gym with admission of seventy five cents per couple. Music will be by Mike Kent's Collegians or Henry Bryan's orchestra. Tickets available from club members.
