County War on Poverty meeting set in Dallas
A county wide town hall is called for Tuesday night in Dallas Memorial Auditorium to decide how the War on Poverty will run locally. Commissioners Court and Dallas City Council sponsor the forum with a goal to finalize a plan for the Office of Economic Opportunity by July 1. The 150 member Dallas County Community Action Committee will be reduced to 51 and may not continue as the sponsoring body. The Green Amendment gives the local community final decision making, and all county residents may attend.
