Centennial bill signed for Richardson Centennial celebration
Rep Dick Reynolds of Richardson told the Daily News Governor Dolph Briscoe signed a bill recognizing Richardson’s Centennial Celebration set for June 12 to 16. Reynolds noted Senators Ron Clower Garland and C H Ike Harris attended the signing in the Governor’s office and that Senate bills face a five day wait before House hearings. A Tuesday move to suspend the rule failed, limiting Senate bills’ progress as the Legislature nears adjournment next Monday. Reynolds said he drew some attention from Austin and Houston papers after his actions.

Kelly re elected Turnpike chief pushes Trinity route
Texas Turnpike Authority board unanimously reelected Fort Worth attorney Dee J. Kelly as chairman and he began pressing for the Trinity Route. Howard Reily noted about 40 million of principal debt retired since the 1957 opening, with 20 million still to retire, and consultant Don Harper urged the debt could be retired quickly. UTD Sets Summer Schedule for Graduate Classes
Advisement and information meetings for summer graduate classes at the University of Texas at Dallas are set for May 26 and June 2. A two term series of evening and day classes in Environmental Sciences Management Administrative Sciences and Mathematical Sciences will be led by Dr Allan Watson at 9 am in the Founders North Auditorium. Registration is June 4. resident tuition is 25 dollars for six weeks and 50 dollars for 12 weeks. The campus is about two miles west of Central Expressway, off Campbell Road on Armstrong Parkway.
