County primaries reveal something for everyone
Dallas County voters delivered mixed results in the Saturday primaries. Republicans reported about 25 000 voters with 10 percent falloff after referendums while Conservatives widened their control in the Democratic Party. Liberals scored key wins led by Mike McKool in the 16th District and kept Jim Tyson on the Commissioners Court. Wallace petition drive drew over 8000 county signatures as headquarters reported 198 of 293 precincts filled amid uneven support across precincts.

Two Dallas and Mesquite youths confess RISD vandalism
Two 17 year olds from Dallas and Mesquite admit entering Lake Highlands Elementary and Vanston Junior High during recent vandalism. Damages exceed 20 000 at Lake Highlands and 60 000 at Vanston. Police report fingerprints place them at the scenes and charges including burglary theft and arson are anticipated. Both suspects are out of school and held in jail.
