Capture 2 Spots reports Richardson High School's one act play The Ugly Duckling advances to the finals in Austin. The show earned first place at district and regional meets with actors Wilson Pietzsch Wayne Good Bec ca Berry Mega Moody Kathy Brodrick Jay Johnson Dan Lauderdale Carlo plus Suzanne Nabours directing. District event at Texas Woman's University Denton Regional at Texas Christian University Fort Worth. All Star honors went to Wayne Goad Kathy Brodrick and Jay Johnson.

Flight crew restrained the thrashing stallion with a fire ax. tranquilizers failed and the horse died. Owner John Newton had planned to race Vanderford at Roosevelt Raceway next month. he valued the horse at over 70 000 dollars.

SPUR Texas UPI reports the Cap rock Peace Officers Association rattlesnake rodeo kicked off with about 100 snakes blasted by 24 contestants who qualified by hitting non moving paper targets. Snakes were not shot until in pits, head shots worth 10, other shots five. The rodeo began in 1949 to catch snakes and relax, though snakes are scarce and rodeos reduce the population.

Hancock Wins Police Award for 1964 Honor
Patrolman Charles Hancock was named outstanding Richardson police officer of 1964 by the Jaycees. He received a plaque at the annual awards function at the Dallas Federal Savings and Loan meeting room. Hancock joins Detective Bob Smith and Lt. Robert Taylor as prior winners.
