Richardson Council Advances Disannexation Plan Amid Plano Move
The Richardson City Council, after bids on lift station pumps and zoning changes, approved disannexing about 906 acres north of Renner Road and south of Highway 544. A public hearing was set for April 9 on 867 acres formerly in Plano, which Plano had disannexed. The council awaited Plano's action, and upon word that Plano had disannexed, Richardson reconvened to approve its own disannexation and plan a public hearing. Councilman Connally announced he will not seek re election and praised joint efforts.

Police arrest over burglaries in Farmers Branch area
Police report two burglaries and one arrest on Monday. A Vanco Construction employee said tools including a saw and drill were taken from the 1200 block Bowser building. Fortune Music reported a $700 tape deck amplifier missing from Suite 445 First Bank and Trust Building. A Dallas man, age about 1 year, was arrested in the 400 block Main Street after a traffic stop revealed a Farmers Branch warrant.
