Five DPS driver license offices open in Dallas area

El Centro College presents TECH NORAMA a two day free display from 9 30 a m to 9 30 p m at the campus outlining technical areas taught now and those planned for future Dallas County Junior College District campuses including Richland College in Richardson opening in 1971. The event offers demonstrations from business and industry and tours for high school students highlighting careers in chemistry electronics radiology data processing architecture drafting inhalation therapy nursing fashion library business and more. Richardson bands perform Thursday night in RHS auditorium
J J Pearce High School and Northwood Junior High School bands present their first public concerts Thursday at Richardson High School auditorium. The 8 p.m. program features a triple concert with both bands plus the Richardson North Junior High band. Admission is 1 for adults and 50 cents for students. Directors Dick Floyd and Jack Foote lead. Twenty five enforcement officers from thirteen cities earned diplomas at a Southwestern Police Academy graduation luncheon held at SMU Umphrey Lee Center. Richardson Sergeants William B. Brown and R. J. Eadler were among the graduates. Lt. T. A. Humphries of the Houston Police Department received the Valedictorian's Award. Frank M. Wozencraft of the U.S. Department of Justice spoke at the ceremony.

Commissioners OK too-high low bid for detention home
The Dallas County Commissioners Court overruled the district attorney and Commissioner Frank Crowley to accept a so-called too-high low bid for an addition to the country juvenile detention home. County Architect Clarence Overbeck put the cost just under 300000 with a 775 transfer, and cuts on windows and doors were not applied. Judge Lew Sterrett noted interior doors had been replaced previously.
