Richardson adopts revised sign ordinance and council approves
The Richardson City Council approved a revised sign ordinance after months of revisions. Councilor Carl Peterson moved for approval. Harry Higginbotham seconded and the measure passed unanimously. CPC chair Louis Smith resigns after six years, with Dave Robinson moving from the Park Board to CPC. Jack I. McJunkin named CPC chairman and Joe James as vice chairman. About 150 parks and recreation specialists from across Texas gather at Richardson Recreation Center for the Texas Recreation and Parks Society Regional Workshop. Sessions cover ball field maintenance and city horticulture plus arts, crafts, dance, and youth athletics with multiple instructors. Wylie E. Sanders Rites Set For Wednesday
Funeral services for Wylie E. Sanders 67 will be held at 2 30 p m Wednesday at Restland Memorial Chapel. Sanders died Monday in a Dallas hospital after retiring as Safeway Stores meat department manager and a 33 year career with the chain. He was Richardson Kiwanis president and Kiwanian of the Year. Survivors include Grace his wife daughter Connie McGee of Richardson three grandchildren four great grandchildren two brothers and four sisters.
