About 400 people attended the Academy Awards of Playgrounds at Greenville Ave Auditorium as 20 playgrounds presented original skits. Woodland Park’s Air Plot won best play. 2001 Space Odyssey from Dover Park won best costume. Community Christian Playground won best scenery for Time Tunnel. Todd Platt of Woodland Park was named best actor and Beth Padgett of Mimosa Park best actress. Heights Park earned special recognition for The Jetsons and Emergency received praise for its production. Judges were Betsy Turecky Jan Triplett and Holly McClure.
