Warren and Greg Estep plan to reach Bay View Michigan by Tuesday after leaving Richardson June 1 on a bicycle trek. They average 80 miles daily, slept in hotels, ate out, and met riders and roller skaters along the way. Mrs. Estep says the trip is a father son dream and they faced mountains and rain with no serious problems. Warren, a management consultant, and Greg, entering 10th grade at Richardson High, travel with minimal luggage and endure long days on 10 speed bikes.

Richardson council to decide on height limit and housing project

Richardson Mayor Raymond Noah reports the Texas Municipal League institute for mayors councilmen and commissioners held June 9 through 11 in Corpus Christi was interesting and successful. Attending were city officials including Howard Hern Harry Higginbotham and Bob Hughey with Martha Ritter absent. Louis Austin and Louis Nichols spoke on conflicts of interest and partnerships in progress as topics plus discussions on federalism interlocal cooperation and city financing. Council will reopen a public hearing on a zoning request Pearce for R-1500-M zoning and consider other items including a Fourth of July event display vans and bill payments.

Richardson police log notes several minor traffic crashes
Multiple minor accidents were reported in Richardson Friday and Saturday including two hit and run incidents one near Belt Line and Plano Roads and another on North Bowser where the complainant did not file. A 3:21 p.m. Friday crash at East Campbell Road injured a woman listed as Class B. An 18 year old Dallas woman was placed in protective custody after threatening self harm with a knife. Thefts: about $1000 in copper tubing from 585 Spring Valley Court between Thursday 7 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m., and a 1968 Yamaha 80 cc motorcycle stolen from 740 Nottingham between Thursday 7:30 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m.
