Colleges May Dip Into Savings For Budget Shortfall
Dallas County's Community College District faces a proposed 1974-75 budget of more than 24 million dollars. Chancellor Bill Priest said about 1 million must come from a 3 million dollar savings fund, with total income projected around 23.3 million including federal state and local funds. Taxpayers would contribute 5.2 million, while 8 million goes to retire bonds.

Richardson planners approve zoning requests and hearings set
During a regular commission meeting on Tuesday night, Richardson city planners approved two zoning requests and set public hearings for two others. They struck one item from the posted agenda. The 30 foot setback on 38.62 acres at Audelia and Buckingham Roads was approved, noting it’s bounded by non residential property and extends Richland Park, thus not setting a precedent. A landscape plan for American Satellite at 3635 Branch Road was approved. July 2 was set for a public hearing on zoning file 7416 for a day care center and school on Community Christian Church property at 1300 Holly Drive. A second hearing on July 16 covers Harold Peek’s request to rezone land west of Yale Boulevard between Arapaho and Apollo roads with eight variances and 30 foot front setbacks instead of 35 feet.
