Festival of Fifties Parade Opens Richardson Fair
The 49th Richardson Community Fair begins Tuesday at the Greenville and Arapaho corner with a parade marching through downtown Richardson. The festival runs to the fairgrounds with rides, midway games, exhibits and free entertainment, featuring Rock bands, dance acts, a Little Miss contest, Astroworld characters, and a Rocking Chair Marathon with prize outcomes to beat last year.

Assault at Amherst truck incident shocks Richardson
Richardson police investigated an aggravated assault Sunday evening after a man reported being shot at while fleeing a house and entering a truck. He identified the truck driver as the suspect and said the gun was drawn as he tried to escape. A burglary at a Lawndale residence was reported with about 849 dollars in items stolen. Detectives checked fingerprints. A 21 year old man was arrested Sunday for hit and run after Joanne Floyd was injured. Donald Lee Hogle reported hearing his car start and seeing a green 1973 Chevrolet station wagon driven away. A theft report of an automobile was filed.
