Holiday death toll climbs in Texas weekend
United Press International counts show at least 44 people killed violently in Texas over the Fourth of July weekend. Twenty died in traffic crashes, ten by homicide, one by drowning, and one miscellaneous violent death. Two teenagers, Faye Cox 16 and William 14, died when flood waters swept through a dry ditch near Valentine.
