Local Man Visits European Air Force Bases

Dr. Vincent S. Haneman Jr. of Haneman Associates and a USAF Reserve lieutenant colonel was among 14 officers chosen to inspect U S Air Force bases in Europe. Based at Tinker AFB Oklahoma as deputy branch chief aeronautical systems service engineering, he toured Seventeenth Air Force bases in Germany including Ramstein AB and Sembach AB.

Mary Spitler Visits Rayburn Library Collection

Miss Mary Spitler of Richardson visited the Sam Rayburn Library in Bonham to view books papers and mementoes collected by the late Speaker Rayburn. The library features a replica of his Capitol office and is open to the public with weekend and weekday hours.

Christmas Trees Symbolize Redemption at Messiah Lutheran

At Messiah Lutheran Church two 14 foot evergreen trees flank the altar telling the Christmas story. The Tree of Sin and Death bears 33 red satin apples recalling Eve’s temptation. The Tree of Life and Salvation features a five point star and white streamers symbolizing God’s blessings through Christ.

Local Aliens in Richardson to Report Addresses

George Kemp said today that about 200 aliens in Richardson must report their addresses during January. Registration cards are available at U S post offices. E W Thurman of the Dallas Immigration and Naturalization Service cites 35 636 aliens registered last January and warns non citizens must file the address report or face penalties.

Richardson Council Reaffirms High Zoning Levels

The Richardson City Council approved drafting ordinances to re zone several tracts from temporary zoning and asked the City Planning Commission to scrutinize the Master Street Plan for possible changes after a public hearing. Five tracts were under review including parcels north of Renner Road and near Central Expressway and Piano Road, among others.

Susan's Doll House Is Tot's Wonderland

William C Wheat was elected president of the Town North Chapter of the Society for the Preservation of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America. He is a Richardson resident and photographer with prior activity in Scouts and DeMolay.
