Pearce Named to Seat on State Teachers Commission
Dr. J. J. Pearce, longtime Richardson ISD superintendent, was appointed by Governor Preston Smith to a two year term on Texas Teachers Professional Practices Commission. The 15 member panel will draft a Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice guiding ethics and professional conduct. The commission will advise the State Commissioner of Education on interpretation and enforcement of the code.

City sales tax deduction tables posted at Post Office
Taxpayers in Richardson may deduct city sales taxes paid in 1969 in addition to state taxes if they itemize on Schedule A Form 1040. District officials prepared tables showing exact amounts deductible for both state and city taxes. The optional table is posted in the Post Office and at banks and IRS offices in North Texas.

A preliminary RSAI study for the NCTCOG projects the Dallas Fort Worth Regional Airport will inject $266 million into the Dallas Tarrant County economy in its first year around 1975. More than half from domestic trunk carriers, the impact includes airport tenants and local carriers. An RSAI second phase on gross impact is due soon, as the Dallas Chamber of Commerce hosts an open meeting January 13 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel to brief residents on progress and implications.
