Price commission asked about Bell rate increase
The Federal Price Commission was asked to tell Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. if it could raise rates before commission review. After a two hour session, Bell and IRS reps agreed to let the price commission decide. IRS said an early hike would violate the Economic Stabilization Act and would be opposed if pursued after December 29.

Richardson City Council approved an ordinance to rezone 62 acres on Campbell Road by the GC&SF Railroad for Richardson General Hospital. About 22 acres will host the hospital and the rest will be for commercial use.

County approves hospital budget with no new taxes
