Richardson Police Report Holiday Traffic and Burglary Incidents
Texas led the nation in holiday traffic accidents with Richardson reporting one major crash at Arapaho and Hampshire sending Marcita Chapman Gordon and Frances Kathleen Ernst to Richardson General Hospital in good condition. The Education Service Center Region X began operations at 21 Abrams Road Richardson occupying 5,500 square feet in the former Abrams Road Church of Christ. Marvin Kirkman leads as executive director with a staff including Ray Hardison and Mrs George Brownlee. The center offers 16mm film distribution teacher in service training and educational planning for eight counties with future plans for data processing and diagnostic services.

Christmas decorating winner honored for Nativity display
The Daily News and Jaycees acknowledge an omission in this year's Christmas home decorating contest. Mrs. Frank H. Mathews of 1400 Chickasaw Drive earned an honorable mention for a Nativity Scene displayed in her front window with Wise Men and camels on the lawn, despite recovering from a serious automobile accident. Her home also featured a fountain and greenery, and neighbors planned festive participation for local children.
