In a Springridge Elementary second grade room, Sandra Quigley and 29 students created a Christmas machine blending smell taste feel sound and sight. The project featured scent jars for lemons oranges vanilla and peppermint a marshmallow and cookie maker a tin can Queen with wig stand features a Crazy Mixed Up Christmas tree Santa’s mail box and a snow machine. The effort focused on sensory learning and following directions as visitors toured the display.

Local students win recognition in Junior Achievement Sales Club
Five Richardson area students from Richardson High School Pearce High School and Lake Highlands High School were named to the $100 Sales Club by the Sales and Marketing Executives of Dallas. To qualify, students sold $100 of Junior Achievement products and will receive a $10 bonus and a $100 Sales Club pin. Cindy Zastovnik also earned $50 as outstanding salesperson for November.

New UTD phones mark growth plans
UTD completed Centrex II installation to handle rising calls with new main lines 690 2111 and registrar line 690 2341. The expansion aims to boost enrollment from 400 to about 4 000 by 1975 as junior transfer students from regional colleges become the main growth.
