City approves annexation and housing rules at council
The City Council Monday night approved developmental standards for apartment and duplex zones and Ordinance 641-A annexing property east of Jupiter west of Shiloh and north of the Dallas-Collin line with first readings complete. The panel also enacted 644-A supporting condominiums and duplex utilities, studied bids on Maple Street and eight alleys, received plats for University Estates and an industrial park, and arranged a 50 50 drainage study for Duck Creek. City officials announced scholarships for two Richardson police officers and thanked Police Chief J W Golden for training efforts.

Service station fire prompts aid fund for burn семь
A Richardson service station fire on November 12 left operators Clarence Wood and his wife critically burned and in hospital. Their four sons, ages 5 to 9, stay with relatives in Denton until February or March. Fire Dept volunteers set up a relief fund at Central Fire Station, 309 East Main Street, for mortgage and home expenses.

Toy donations rise as RISD collects 13016 for Toys for Tots
Elementary students in the Richardson Independent School District donated 13 016 toys to the Toys for Tots project in a yearly effort. The tally shows a near 3000 toy increase from the previous year, with Marine Corps Reserve and Salvation Army partners distributing gifts to underprivileged families. Lt Col A J Vidano oversaw the program for the second year, assisted by a team of sergeants. In a separate incident, a six car crash at East Frontage and Spring Valley hospitalized four people, including William C May and Nancy R Boles among others.
