TP&L seeks record 34 percent rate hike in Texas
TP&L filed with the Public Utilities Commission and Richardson city council for a 34 percent system wide rate increase, forecasting $165 million in revenue on last year’s electricity usage with elasticity lowering to about $135 million. Residential, school and municipal rates would rise near 38 percent while commercial and industrial rates increase 26 and 25 percent respectively.
