RHS Grads Take Honors As SMU Debate Team
Two 1966 Richardson High School graduates won first place honors at a Louisiana Tech debate tournament in Ruston. Alexis Pedden and Grover Hartt, freshmen at Southern Methodist University, led SMU in the junior men’s division with a 6-0 record. They will compete January 5 in Jackson Mississippi at Millsaps College.

TI Announces Leadership Shakeup As Jonsson Retires
Texas Instruments confirms Jonsson will retire from the chairmanship at year end and as an employee. Patrick Haggerty becomes chairman and CEO, with Mark Shepherd promoted to president and chief operating officer. The board left the VP office vacant at its Tuesday meeting.

Funeral Services Held For Father Of Mrs Cross
A V Barrows 58 of Dallas father of Mrs F D Cross of Richardson died December 15 and was buried at Calvary Hill Cemetery after a 9 am Tuesday service at St. Cecilia Catholic Church Dallas. Rev Samuel Metzger presided with rosary Monday night. He survived by his wife Rose Marie Barrows a son John A Barrows two grandchildren a brother Leo L Barrows and a sister Mrs Juanita Kadek of Staten Island. Pallbearers included Bill Woodal Jim Traylor Howard Elkins Joel Gallop O H Vickrey and John Hicks. Lamar Smith Funeral Home directed arrangements.
