Murchison to Lead $1.31 Million Building for Youth Campaign
John D. Murchison of Dallas will chair Circle Ten Council Boy Scouts Building for Youth drive to raise 1.31 million dollars. The fund will expand camps serving 12 Texas counties and one Oklahoma county, adding 3,000 acres near Athens for two new camps and about 100,000 for camp repairs. Circle Ten serves roughly 35,748 Scouts and 11,000 volunteers. Scout Executive is J. L. Tarr.

Webster Property Zoning Plans On Agenda At Public Hearing
City council discussed Webster property development across four tracts at the regular session led by municipal planning consultant Robert Holland. Proposals include two acres for attached single family rentals, 16 acres for a 4300 unit motel with four restaurants and a gift shop, and two 2.5 acre tracts for industrial, technical and multi story office uses. Council authorized drafting an ordinance to study zoning, with Holland to supply legal description and standards by the next meeting. A tentative site plan alignment with the master street plan was discussed. Other actions included awarding Cullum and Boren Co. a 1630 dollar contract for gymnastic equipment and setting a public hearing for January 17, 1966 on a height variance request by Lansing Thorne. The regular meeting was postponed to December 27, then moved to December 28 for zoning consideration.
