RISD Bands Sweep All-Region Honors in 1967 Auditions
Richardson High School and Lake Highlands earned top spots in the 1967 All-Region Honor Band after auditions in Irving. Twenty-eight RHS and sixteen LH members earned positions, with eight alternates from RHS and LH combined. The top players will vie for state All-State selection January 20 and perform January 6 at a public concert under Francis McBeth.

Enrollment rises to 421 in Richardson adult education
The Richardson Independent School District reports 421 adults enrolled for the fall Semester in its Adult Education program, up from 385 last year. Courses include shorthand typing bookkeeping Spanish sewing tailoring and furniture refinishing at Richardson and Lake Highlands High Schools. Evening classes run three hours weekly with a stock market course adding 1.5 hours. A spring schedule will be sent home in January.
