Metropolitan area authorities urge shoppers to lock up purchases and avoid leaving packages in plain view. NATB advises placing items in trunks, rolling up windows, removing ignition keys, and avoiding remote or poorly lit parking spots to deter theft during the season.
A Royal Jordanian Airlines jet landed at Love Field and was docked at Braniff International’s air freight terminal. Two Collins trucks with large wooden crates sat nearby under heavy security. Officials would not disclose contents or destination, but authorities noted ongoing military supply ties with Jordan and other Middle Eastern nations.
Richardson police investigated a burglary theft and shoplifting Tuesday. Steven Burda reported his car battery worth 20 dollars stolen from his auto at home. The Mobile X-Ray Unit will be at Richardson Heights Shopping Center today and Thursday, offering free chest X-Rays to anyone 15 or older from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 to 5 pm on Wednesday, with post noon to 3 pm and 4 to 7 pm Thursday slots. Federal narcotics agents arrested Michael Carey Billy Joe Lee and Richard Barnett at the Northwood Hills Shopping Center Dallas after a purchase of 147 vials of methadrine valued at about 36000. They were arraigned by Justice of Peace Robert Cole with bonds set at 25000 each. Authorities recovered 15 officers involved and confiscated a van and car. Emerson of DALE said the drug is heavily distributed in the Dallas metro area.
